Morningstar Direct unites all of Morningstar’s global data and institutional research, rigorous analytics, and productivity tools. Here are key highlights of our latest enhancements.

Microsoft® Excel® Add-In
The Investments window interface has been redesigned to let users add more than one item at a time to a spreadsheet. The new interface also lets users reorder data points as they are added to the basket. Users can also now retrieve custom data points created in Morningstar Direct.
  
Research
Research
Users can now create, edit, rename, and delete investment lists in the Research module. This allows users to see and work with lists of investments without having to leave the module and go to the Investment Grid/Screener area.
 
Morningstar Category Ranks and Ratings
Morningstar Category Ranks and Ratings
Open-end and exchange-traded funds have been combined into single categories for the sake of calculating the Morningstar Rating and category ranks. Users have the option of seeing these investments grouped together in Presentation Studio’s Performance Reporting module and Performance Reporting component.

New and enhanced components were added, including a Leading Contributors/Detractors table, the ability to plot two data points on a Time Series chart, and maturity breakdown data points in the Pie, Stacked Bar, and Historical Asset Exposure charts.

Morningstar Direct Cloud
The new Morningstar Report replaces the QuickTake report for funds. This redesigned report features all information on one page, with links at the top to allow users to jump to particular parts of the report. The report is ordered by the five pillars constituting the Morningstar Analyst Rating: Performance, Price, Process, People, and Parent.
